Caitlin Murphy

Attorney Caitlin E. Murphy joined the Law Offices of Mark Sherman in January 2019 as a Certified Legal Intern. In 2020 after passing the bar and getting licensed, Caitlin became an associate attorney. Since then, she has appeared in courthouses across the State of Connecticut representing individuals in a variety of matters from misdemeanor and felony criminal charges, to restraining orders, as well as before several Connecticut administrative agencies including the Department of Motor Vehicles and Department of Children and Families. Since her licensure, Caitlin’s advocacy has led to the dismissal of over 100 criminal cases.

Caitlin is the Chair of the Firm’s Restraining Order Practice Group and has appeared in courthouses all over the state of Connecticut in connection with both prosecuting and defending Family Court and Civil Court restraining orders and the various motions that go along with them. 

Additionally, Caitlin is the Chair of the Firm’s Department of Motor Vehicles Practice Group appearing regularly before the DMV to contest per se suspensions following arrests for Driving Under the Influence. 

Caitlin graduated summa cum laude from Quinnipiac University in 2017 with a degree in Legal Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice. She then went on to Quinnipiac University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2020 with honor’s concentrations in Criminal Law and Advocacy and Civil Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. During law school Caitlin won several awards upon graduation, as well as in her role as a competitor in the school’s nationally ranked Mock Trial team. She served as the Mock Trial President and was academically invited on to the Quinnipiac Law Review. Her note was published in 2020 in the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal.
